Snake Knocks Power To Traffic Light In Prince William County

A large snake found inside of an electrical box cut power to a Prince William County traffic light Monday, May 1.

Officers investigating the outage at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Sudley Manor Drive found the reptile inside of the electrical box.

Crash Investigator Lewton and Animal Control Officer White removed the animal unharmed and released him in the area.

Lewton reminded motorists: "When traffic signals are not working because of a power outage or other problem (snake perhaps) and not displaying any lights, treat the traffic light as a stop sign and use extreme caution before proceeding."
